The Perfect High-Protein Snack For Busy Women

One thing has remained constant these past few years – my need for a snack. I’ve gone through periods where I’ve stuck to three square meals a day but I’ve always ultimately reverted back to including a mid-afternoon snack. Today, I wanted to share with you all a flavorful, filling high-protein snack I’ve come across and talk a little bit about why I think snacking is so important.Why Snacking is Important

Before I introduce this exciting snack, let’s talk a little bit more about snacking and answer why I think it’s important. As I said, I’ve definitely gone through periods where I haven’t snacked regularly, but the reason I come back to it is because it stops me from binge eating! I found that I would get SO hungry before dinner, that I would go crazy and eat everything in sight. Not great for anyone trying to lose or maintain their weight. I found that by having a snack either high in protein or fiber (or both, ideally!), I stayed genuinely fuller for longer and it helped me make smarter choices come dinner.

Furthermore, choosing a nutritious snack post-workout is helpful for your recovery!

Introducing Foster Farm’s Bold Bite

Ok, I will stop teasing you all 🙂 The snack I wanted to show you all is Foster Farm’s new Bold Bites! They are seasoned chicken pieces made out from whole chicken breasts which pack 15 grams of protein per serving and only 3 grams of carbohydrates. It’s the perfect mid-afternoon snack as well as a great choice post-workout! I love that the Bold Bites are now on the market because previously, the only other snack that came remotely close to these macros was jerky. And jerky is fairly high in fat so not the best snack to have day in and day out whereas these bold bites are low in fat because they are made from chicken.

 As you can see, they have a variety of flavor options. So no more snacking on plain chicken breast, you hear me?! I was impressed with all of the flavors although I think my favorite has to be the Parmesan garlic. The flavors are really bold, and fresh tasting, and how can you really go wrong with a pairing of those flavors?

They are the perfect snack for busy women because they’re so easy to bring with you wherever you go. You can keep them in your gym bag and enjoy them after a tough workout, bring them to work, or just have handy if you’re out and about and start to feel hungry. I’m definitely going to be packing these in for the next roadtrip I have as well! If you happen to be at home and have a little time on your hands, you can always pair them with fresh veggies such as raw carrots and celery, or even have them on some crackers.

Well, have I convinced you to try them? I really don’t think there’s a better high-protein, low-carb snack option on the market and I’m really excited they come in so many flavors. They are definitely Honestly Fitness approved!
