It’s almost February and the first month of the year will soon be behind us. Many of us, including myself, committed to some sort of fitness resolution or goal for the New Year. I’m not the biggest fan of resolutions and instead like to think of how I am continuously improving and hitting fitness goals which I alter every month. I think that picking specific and realistic goals will go far in helping you commit to a fit and healthy lifestyle, and I want to share this surprising way to stick to your fitness goals.

Hit Your Fitness Goals With Workout Clothes
I’ve talked on numerous occasions about how I find workout clothes motivating – and especially new workout clothes. Although I probably buy more workout clothes than the average person, I haven’t bought any new pieces for a few months and was itching to get more. Needless to say, I was extremely excited to pair up with Zappos and share my experience getting cute workout clothes from them. Zappos offer a huge range of brands to choose from and I could not contain my excitement when I saw that they had Adidas by Stella McCartney. I’ve wanted to buy a piece from that range for years and could not wait to finally buy a piece (or two).
As you can see, I ended up getting these absolutely beautiful tights from Adidas by Stella McCartney, a top from Lucy (the back is so cute) and some new trainers which are also Adidas from Stella McCartney. If I hadn’t gravitated straight to Adidas from Stella McCartney, then I’m sure the style room, which is a feature on Zappos, would’ve helped me find something.
So, how does this fit into sticking to your fitness goals? It all comes down to how new workout clothes can motivate you – it may sound superficial, and perhaps it is, but I personally do not see anything wrong with buying something that makes you feel confident and strong. What better to help you hit your fitness goals and get your butt to the gym or for a run outdoors than wearing an outfit that makes you excited to workout?
It’s Science
Guys, trust me, even the experts agree with me! Karen J. Pine, Professor of Psychology at The University of Hertforshire says that getting new workout clothes can put you into exercise mode because clothing primes the brain to expect the activity to come. If you feel like your fitness resolve is starting to fit, get new workout clothes! You don’t necessarily have to go to a brick and mortar location – you can head over to Zappos and take advantage of their free shipping (which came really quickly) and their 365 return policy. I.e. if it doesn’t fit, which is ALWAYS my worry, you can return it, easy peasy. Needless to say, I was pretty happy that my new workout clothes fit perfectly (thank you, macros).
