VitaLura Labs Protein Powder May be the Best I’ve Tried!

Updated March 9, 2024

If you do a quick Google search on protein powder, the results that come up can be intimidating. How is anyone supposed to pick the right protein powder for their goals and dietary preferences when there are SO many out there? Well, that’s where I hope I can help. As you know, I pride myself on only ever showcasing and recommending products I genuinely love and use. And the new protein powder from VitaLura Labs (owned by Anna Victoria) may be the best I’ve tried yet (keep reading for my thoughts and a code for free shipping)!

Who are VitaLura Labs?

First things first — let’s talk about who exactly VitaLura Labs are. VitaLura Labs is co-owned by Anna Victoria and her husband Luca Ferretti, who sought to create the best supplements line on the market (starting with protein powder with more products planned for the future). Born out of Anna’s experience of not being able to find a protein powder that met her needs, she teamed up with nutrition experts including registered dietitian Kylie Morse, RD, to create their ideal product.

Personally, I love that Anna wasn’t willing to compromise and sought out to create the best product possible!

What Makes VitaLura Lab’s Protein Powders Special?

Unlike many other protein powders available, VitaLura Labs actually get their protein powder tested and certified by NSF’s Content Certified certification program. This third party testing is done so that anyone buying their products feels confident knowing that the nutrition facts on the label are accurate and that they’re getting exactly what they paid for. This is a really unique feature of VitaLura Labs and not something typically done in the industry because it’s fairly expensive.

Additionally, VitaLura Labs protein powder provides 25g of high quality protein per scoop. For those not in the know, that’s a high amount of protein powder per scoop, with the highest typically being 20g per scoop. And they don’t skimp on how much is provided per bag either! Each bag of protein powder contains 30 servings per bag while most only offer 10-15 servings per bag. Consider that when looking at the price — that comes out to be just $2 per scoop of protein!

As a bonus, they use stevia leaf extract and monkfruit which are natural sweeteners and tend to be more gentle on the stomach.

What’s the Difference Between Their Whey and Vegan Protein Powders?

I feel like Anna Victoria describes this best in the video below! But in a nutshell:

  • whey protein is made from cow’s milk but theirs is whey isolated, meaning low lactose, and doesn’t upset tummies!
  • their vegan protein powder is made from plant-based pea, rice and pumpkin protein
  • whey protein is a complete protein while vegan isn’t always (but VitaLura’s is
  • whey protein has more bioavailability (nutrient absorption) while vegan protein powders have less
  • whey protein tends to have a thinner/smoother texture whereas vegan protein powders are thicker in texture
  • both help build and repair muscle

Which of Their Protein Powders is the Best?

While this is totally a personal preference, the chocolate flavored whey protein powder is number 1 for me! This is because a) I am an actual chocoholic and b) I feel like the texture is the most smooth.

Coming in at a close number 2 is the chocolate flavored vegan protein powder. While VitaLura’s vegan protein powder is THE smoothest, best tasting vegan protein powder I’ve tried to date (not chalky and funny like others), it is not quite as smooth as the whey.

Logically speaking, the vanilla flavored whey and vegan protein powders come in after the chocolate 🙂 They are both still fantastic and make for incredible shakes. Additionally, Danielle Hamo, a Registered Dietitian that I worked with, gave her stamp of approval on VitaLura Labs’ vegan protein powder (she prefers vegan ones to whey).

If you’ve come to this review, wondering whether or not to try one of VitaLura’s protein powders out, take this as your sign to go for it! I’ve been using these products ever since they’ve come out and have been a fan of Anna Victoria and her workouts generally for years. And if you were here, just curious about protein powders and wondering which to buy, I hope this has convinced you to consider buying it as well!

Disclaimer: I am an ambassador for Anna Victoria and VitaLura Labs but my thoughts are 100% my own. I started using her workouts well before I became an ambassador and by the time she launched these protein powders, we had both built up mutual respect and admiration for one another. You know that I only ever endorse products and services that I truly love and use in my everyday life.
