18 Yummy and Healthy Toppings For GG Crackers

You’ve probably seen me posting about GG crackers on my Instagram and wondered what the deal was with them. Well, it’s all got to do with the F-Factor diet which I’ve been following for over 6-months now. It’s really more of a lifestyle than a diet at this point. At it’s heart, the F-Factor lifestyle is about eating foods rich in fiber. And this is where GG crackers come in.

What are GG Crackers?

GG crackers are a recommended, F-Factor approved product because they are both low in calories and high in fiber. Four crackers contain just 80 calories and 16g of fiber – about half the recommended amount of fiber for an adult woman!

Tanya Zuckerbrot, the founder of the F-Factor diet, recommends that you consume four at a time because they will completely fill you up and rev up your metabolism at the same time. I eat GG crackers everyday, normally for breakfast, and sometimes again as a snack. Whilst the crackers aren’t the tastiest things on earth (they’re pretty bland), they do make fabulous vehicles for delicious toppings.

Read ahead for some of my favorite GG cracker toppings that will keep you full and satisfied for hours!

Delicious and healthy toppings for GG crackers

1. Prosciutto with basil leaves

Mmm, one of my faves! I love the saltiness of prosciutto combined with some torn basil leaves. So fresh and will have you feeling like you’re in Italy!

2. Light brie cheese and chia seeds

This might sound odd but don’t knock it until you try it. The crunchy chia seeds are a lovely contrast against the smooth, tangy brie cheese.

3. Avocado with balsamic glaze, cracked black pepper, salt and chili flakes

Ugh, such a crowd pleaser! The creamy, rich avocado is incredible with the somewhat dry crackers. And you MUST add balsamic glaze, cracked black pepper, flaked salt and chili flakes. Do not skimp on any of the above 🙂

4. Scrambled eggs with mushrooms and cholula

This is a regular breakfast of mine and it is freaking delicious. The trick is to add 1tbsp of nutritional yeast to your scrambled egg and mushroom mixture right before you take it off the stovetop. It is delicious – let me know if you try my favorite breakfast of all time!

5. Blueberry (or raspberry) chia jam

A great topping if you need something sweet! Click here for my easy peasy blueberry chia jam recipe.

6. Peanut butter or powdered peanut butter

A great mix of protein and healthy fats. Just spread some peanut butter or a powdered version (which has less fat in it) and munch away.

7. Classic GG “pizza”

These are so delicious and will curb any cravings you have for greasy pizza. Check out the full recipe here.

8. Hummus and deli roast beef

Simply spread hummus of your choice, roll a slice or two of deli roast beef, and place on top of the hummus. So tasty and filling!

9. Cold smoked salmon and light cheese spread

Omg, I am obsessed with this combo. I like to use a light brie cheese spread but you can also use a spread like Laughing cow. Top with cold smoked salmon and enjoy this luxurious combo.

10. Pesto

Honestly, pesto on it’s own is an incredible topping and does a lot to add moisture to GG crackers. Enjoy your GG crackers with pesto alone or add some parmesan cheese with it.

Honorable Mentions

The foods I’ve listed above are all delicious and Honestly Fitness approved. Here are some other ideas you can try out but please know that they are not foods I regularly top my own GG crackers with:

  • Sliced fruit (bananas, apples, pears, strawberries, figs, dates)
  • Egg salad
  • Tzatziki
  • Greek yogurt
  • Cream cheese
  • Sliced tomatoes and mozzarella
  • Cottage cheese
  • Tuna

Please let me know if you end up trying any of these toppings by commenting below or shooting me a message on Instagram. Which has become your favorite?!

Honestly yours,
Alice
