Coming Clean About My Fitness Secrets + Giveaway

May 8, 2016

A bit of a different post today; something more personal and vulnerable. Today I’m ‘coming clean’ about one of my fitness secrets that I’ve never really shared with anyone before.

I used to be scared of Lifting Heavy Weights

For a long time I have been scared of lifting heavy weights. And while, I’m now 1000% over that, for the longest time, I was scared of lifting heavy weights without realizing it. I definitely saw the benefit in using weights and had actually lost a ton of weight back in 2012 when I worked with a personal trainer and used heavy weights to sculpt my body. But for some reason, a few months after that, it’s like I forgot how well my body responded to weights and avoided them for the longest time.

I definitely understand why women can get freaked out by using them and it makes me feel bad that for so long, I pretended like I wasn’t afraid of using them, but in reality was. Lifting heavy has so many benefits to it – not only does it help you lose fat to reveal your abs, helps you become stronger and makes you more confident (this is my personal opinion).

 Confidence is Key

It’s ironic, because so many women in our modern day and age seem to think that they will become bulky and as a result, not be confident in their own skin. This is not the case! If anything, lifting heavy weights has made me feel a lot more confident in so many aspects of my life – I’m more open to trying new workouts, feel more confident in the clothes I wear and love the feeling of strength when I do my workouts.

I actually have a surprising amount of sweat when I lift heavy haha, so it’s definitely important to make sure I am keeping clean during the process. And ladies, this may be TMI, but it’s important to make sure that you keep your bum clean too! I love using cleansing cloths such as Cottonelle® flushable cleansing cloths because only Cottonelle® has CleanRipple Texture designed to clean better, so you’re clean enough to Go Commando. I personally don’t choose to go commando, but to each their own, and I am sure some of you guys may choose to!

Get Outside of Your Comfort Zone

Thanks to my new found confidence thanks to lifting heavy weights, wish I could’ve gone to the Wanderlust 108 Festival in San Diego, which was sponsored by Cottonelle®. I saw so many photos and videos on Instagram and it looked like a blast. I love that health and wellness is becoming more mainstream and that festivals like this are happening. Share your #CleanConfession with Cottonelle® at Wanderlust 108 in San Diego on Sunday, May 8.

Normally festivals weird me out a little bit, because I’m not a fan of using porta-potties haha. If I had gone, I definitely would’ve packed some Cottonelle® flushable cleansing cloths as well as their toilet paper into my workout bag to bring along with me. Do you know how many times I’ve gone to a porta-potty and been faced with absolutely no toiler paper?! No fun at all haha.

The next upcoming Wanderlust 108 Festival is in Miami, and I want to invite you guys to enter the Cottonelle® sweepstakes for a chance to win an all-inclusive trip to Wanderlust 108 Festival in Miami on October 22nd! Just click here for the chance to win.
