BCAA Supplements: What are they and are they necessary?

A while ago, I wrote a post on whether or not protein powders are necessary or not. It proved to be extremely popular and so I decided to step back into the world of fitness supplements and do a post on BCAA Supplements – Branched Chain Amino Acids. They are an extremely popular supplement touted from bodybuilders to BBG (bikini body guide) girls, and as you know, I have always been skeptical about supplements. This post is as much for me as it is for you. Let’s get to it!

What are BCAAS?

BCAAS a.k.a Branched Chain Amino Acids refer to three amino acids (amino acids make up protein): Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. They can found in any foods containing protein, such as chicken or eggs. Some believe that BCAA supplements are crucial for building muscle while losing fat and that it can help you train longer and harder. Dashbody: My new workout routine

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted everyone! I know I am majorly slacking and I apologize. I have some great posts lined up and I am aiming to do at least 2 posts a week 🙂

I wanted to let you all know about what workout routine I have been doing lately. I absolutely loved SBC, the Skinny Bitch Collective, and will definitely re-start that at some point and blog about it.  But for now, I have decided to try out Dasha Gaivoronski, of Instagram’s @Dashbody, workout program called ‘Dashbody’. Health Benefits of the Farmers Market

I am absolutely love farmers markets and feel so lucky to live in a city that has an abundance of them. It’s become a ritual to go to the farmers market in downtown Salt Lake City every Saturday and if I can’t make it one week for whatever reason, I feel as if I have missed out on an important part of my week. The food served there is fantastic and it’s such a thrill to see all of the different fruits and vegetables that are in season and to do my part in supporting local organizations. What’s even better is that most of the produce that is available at the farmers market is cheaper than in your regular supermarket, and generally fresher. Continue Reading…
